Are there consultation fees?

Yes. We are a private billing practice and charge fees for consultations. We will provide the fee information when booking your appointment. You can also claim a rebate from Medicare for part of the consultation fee. Private health funds do not cover any of the consultation fee.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring all relevant tests relating to why you are seeing the doctor such as CT scans, hearing tests and blood tests. If you have not had any of these tests, it is still ok to come to your appointment. 

New patients will also receive a text message with a link to complete an online patient registration form. Referrals can be uploaded at the time of completing the registration.

Do I need a referral?

Yes, It is a Medicare requirement that all patients need to have a valid referral. 

A GP referral will last for 12 months from the date of the first consultation. A specialist referral will last for 3 months from the date of the first consultation. 

What if I need surgery?

We have dedicated staff who handle all of our surgical bookings. They will provide all relevant information including quotes after you see the specialist.

I can’t remember when my appointment is booked

All patients will receive a SMS reminder approximately 5-7 days prior to their appointment. We encourage all patients to reply to this message promptly in order to assist us with managing the appointment schedule effectively. 

Patients can email us at reception@theentcentre.com.au for NON URGENT appointment enquiries or to check if their referral is current. 

What if my condition is urgent?

Your GP may contact our rooms directly to expedite your appointment.

I think I am getting sick/ I am sick- should I still come to my appointment? 

Any patients who have a sudden onset of symptoms suggestive of COVID or flu-like symptoms, irrespective of vaccination status including runny nose, cough, sore throat, temperature, or sudden changes to sense of smell or taste should contact our rooms prior to their appointment on 9477 3717 to discuss this before attending.
